I’m pretty sure I’m going to be keeping Samantha & Rob’s wedding portraits in my favorites collections for years to come! Between the stormy, dramatic skies, Samantha’s beautiful dress and emerald ring, and a super sweet intimate wedding reception in Estes Park, there’s loads to love about this day!
We started with their first look at Estes Park Resort just before the ceremony, and then headed into Rocky Mountain National Park for their wedding portraits at Morraine Park. The clouds rolled in, making everything bold and colorful, and even offered a bit of wind to add to the drama! We got to their reception location at Trout Haven just as it started to hail. But the reception was super cute, and I loved the string lights hanging from the ceiling.
The proposal story in Rob’s words: “I was working in Chicago for the summer and Samantha came to visit. After a day at the Art Institute and a nice lunch I proposed to her on a hill in the park overlooking the city and Lake Michigan. My mom was hiding behind bushes to capture the moment.”
When asked what they love most about one another, here’s what they said:
“What I love most about Samantha is the confidence that she has in herself. She knows who she is and will not change for others. She also is incredibly thoughtful and is willing to do anything to make me happy. I knew she was the one when I realized that doing things without her next to me was never as exciting as when she was there.” – Rob
“What I love the most about Rob is how thoughtful he is. If I am having a hard time, he takes care of me and writes me sweet notes to cheer me up. One of the first things I loved about him was how his smiles and laughs make his eyes crinkle when he’s really happy. I knew he was the one because I knew I couldn’t bear to ever let him go, and realized I would do whatever it takes to keep him in my life.” – Samantha
