Here’s the number one thing I love most about elopements: you can do ANYTHING you want to for your day. No limitations.
And sometimes that means finding the perfect balance between having a celebration with your family and selecting a destination that means something important to you.
Bre and Daniel met here in Colorado as geology undergraduates through an Oklahoma State field camp. They wanted to come back to the state where their love story began and love how Garden of the Gods is central to their story! Bre is now in school for her master’s degree, while Daniel is now studying Student Affairs, and they’ll eventually have a bigger reception later this year but wanted an intimate, small wedding ceremony before they graduate in May.
When they first reached out last year, they were only planning to bring a couple of friends along. Over time, they decided to bring a few others of their closest friends and family but keep it small — and it was the perfect fit! They found an AMAZING house rental to stay in over in Black Forest, and had a gorgeous ceremony where they self-solemnized in the Jaycee Plaza in the middle of Garden of the Gods park.
We had so much fun playing with Bre’s gorgeous flowy dress and I can’t wait to hear what you all think of some of our favorites shown below!
If you have yet to tear up at a wedding video, this one just might get you. Even friends of mine who don’t know Bre and Daniel have cried watching this — and I teared up multiple times while editing the wedding video to begin with!
