Despite how dry Colorado can be (especially during summer), we do occasionally get some truly fantastic weather – and by fantastic, I mean dramatic clouds among the mountain peaks!
I was a bit nervous about Katie & Joel’s adventure wedding, since storms had been bringing hail off and on for the last few weeks when they came to visit for their big day. But we decided to move forward no matter what, and had to just be flexible by getting in and out of the car during their elopement session while it hailed and rained outside periodically. These two lovebirds had come all the way from Georgia (a true Southern cowboy and cowgirl, down right to their boots!) and this was the only day we could do their ceremony before they drove out for their honeymoon into the mountains.
And it was all SO worth it. The storms brought some beautiful, vibrant colors out of the greenery around us at Guanella Pass, and we spent some time just watching the clouds roll in over the mountaintops — they were moving so FAST!
