Although we often book out elopements months in advance, Jennifer and Bobby reached out to me only a handful of weeks in advance of their big day. They had originally planned to have a traditional wedding celebration, but when Jennifer’s aunt passed away suddenly (who was very close to her), they decided to elope instead. The date they chose in August was her aunt’s birthday, so it was really important to them to get married that day.
It was such a meaningful date, and I was honored to have been able to capture it. We opted for a small family ceremony on top of Independence Pass, and everything was so lush and beautiful!
Not long after the ceremony, a thunderstorm rolled in, with rain and hail pounding our cars. We decided to drive down the mountain early, and get a few more pictures down by Twin Lakes. Afterwards, we re-shot some other portraits on a later date at North Table Mountain to make up for it. 🙂
