River Bend in Lyons, Colorado immediately stole my heart as soon as I walked around the venue before Devon & Brian’s wedding day started. Between the open spaces, tall trees, the sound of the river gushing by, and the tall red canyon walls – there’s TONS of characteristics to love about this gorgeous wedding venue.
And everything is all on site too! They had a glamping tent where the groomsmen got ready for the day, and a little house with an open-air layout (no closed windows) that was perfect for the girls to get ready. Then an open lush grassy area underneath the shade for the ceremony, a wide open space with an outdoor bar for cocktail hour, a tall white tent for dinner, and an outdoor dance floor next to the river! I was in photographer’s heaven, for sure.
To top it off, Devon and Brian are both such genuine people, who had me tearing up multiple times during the ceremony and toasts. Their wedding brought together family from the east coast (all the way from Pennsylvania!) for a small celebration with such a warm and heartfelt vibe.
Towards the end of the night, some intense thunderstorms rolled in, so I took the opportunity to capture a little bit of extra magic by getting some lightning on camera, and when the storms passed, I took another night photo of their silhouettes to combine the two together for one of my new favorite photographs ever (scroll down to the end!).
