When Sarah + Ryan first reached out to me, we chatted about our shared love for being on the water at Lake Tahoe and some of the other nearby lakes in northern California. They have shared many dates together while kayaking and canoeing across these lakes, and it’s an important part of how they fell in love.
They knew they wanted to integrate their shared love for this place, the water, and each other into their full-day elopement experience, and we loved help bring this vision to life.
Family is also super important to them, so they made sure we had a day planned that could allow them to share this entire experience with their parents. So we planned for a ceremony on the docks of another nearby lake where their parents read letters from other family members before Sarah + Ryan shared their own vows, and then all of us drove to Lake Tahoe where we hopped into the Wild Goose II (seriously the coolest vintage wooden boat on the lake) and set sail as the sun started to dip over the mountains.

Despite the wind and a bit of haze/smoke from a nearby wildfire, we were able to capture some stunning footage for their elopement video on Lake Tahoe.

For Sarah + Ryan’s elopement, Meg Cooper was the lead associate photographer for the day while Kaitlyn took the lead on video for the day. Check out some of our favorite elopement photos from the day below:
