I’ve known Alex since high school – so officially 10+ years! She’s been following my work ever since I started way back then, and it means SO much to me that she had her heart set on having me be their wedding photographer!
I was in town for a vow renewal (of another high school friend!) and a wedding of a close friend of mine, so we decided to get some engagement photos at one of our favorite spots in town: Sunken Gardens right near downtown St. Pete! I’ve been to these botanic gardens many times as a kid, and my mom and step-dad even got married there in the butterfly garden!
Needless to say, we had so much fun exploring all the fun backdrops from the tall bamboo plants and flamingos, to the palm trees and flowers. I was in photographer heaven! Especially since Colorado’s been so white/brown lately this winter, so I was definitely craving some lush greenery. If you’re looking for a great spot for weddings or engagement photos, Sunken Gardens is a perfect option. <3
We also spent tons of time talking about all the cool places we love to see while traveling the world, and chatted about everything from Iceland and Colorado to tons of other fun travel ideas over lunch after our session was over. 🙂 They’re even headed to Japan for their honeymoon — so cool!
