It’s been snowing nearly every week here in Denver now that it’s January, so I think it’s the perfect time to reminisce on the first snow of the season: back in October for Lauren & Taelor’s adventure wedding in Boulder!
Mid-October can apparently be so different from one year to the next. Last winter, we seemed to get so much less snow than this year (it’s much needed in this dry state, so we appreciate it!). But it was quite the surprise for their intimate wedding, especially since they came out out to Colorado from the midwest for a destination wedding!
What I loved most about the day: the constant smile on Taelor’s face, their genuine and deep love for one another, their family’s support (braving the downpour of snow!), and their willingness to get out into the cold again for some portraits after the ceremony! We drove up Flagstaff road to get some snowy portraits by Gross Reservoir, which is SO pretty covered in white!
I also loved that there were apple trees on both the rental properties for their getting ready spots, which was so meaningful since Taelor proposed in an apple orchard.
And although we thought the weather would let up just for a bit during the ceremony at Chatauqua Park so we could see the flatirons covered in snow, they never peeked through the mist but we still captured some beautiful winter wedding photos! By the end of their vows, they were both covered in snow!
It was definitely a winter adventure wedding to remember! <3
